Treatments
Orthodontics
Specialty that deals with the study, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of abnormalities in the form, position, relationship, and function of the dentomaxillofacial structures. These structures prevent, diagnose, and correct potential alterations through the use and control of different types of forces.
Type
Depending on the type of forces applied, patients often require both techniques to resolve their dental problems. There are two dentomaxillary phases:
- Removable: performed at an early age with a fundamentally interceptive or orthopedic intention, which can be removed from the mouth by the patient. They solve some simple malocclusions with a lower economic cost and less discomfort for patients. They are used in the primary dentition, where certain pathological conditions can be corrected.
- Fixed: performed at an older age by means of an appliance of elements attached to the teeth to which thin elastic metal archwires are anchored by means of a set of ligatures.
Alterations
There are a number of common alterations, these are:
- Prognathism. Defines an advanced position of the bone or teeth.
- Retrognathism. Defines a position delayed to the position of the bone or teeth.
- Open bite. When the upper teeth come into contact with the lower teeth there is a space between them, making it difficult to seal the lips.
- Crossbite. When biting the upper teeth remain biting on the inside of the upper teeth.
- Edge-to-edge bite. When biting the cusps contact edge to edge.
- Diastemas. Spacing between teeth.
- Covered bite. Upper teeth cover the lower teeth more than half or completely.
- Collapse. It is a narrowing that causes insufficient space to properly accommodate all the teeth.

Invisalign
It's the most innovative invisible orthodontics. Transparent, flexible, and removable covers are changed periodically to move teeth toward the desired position.

Conventional
It's traditional orthodontics. Metal brackets and archwires that move teeth through different tensions. Simple and affordable orthodontics.

Aesthetics
The same system as conventional metal orthodontics but with white brackets that blend in with the teeth. These can be ceramic or sapphire.

Children
Corrective and retaining orthodontics for children. Prevents deviations and alterations in the shape of the palate and jaw. Retains interdental spaces until the new tooth arrives.
